Kokuu guests traveled with the staff to see the Annual fireworks festival in the nearby town of Nosegawa.

The route to get to this remote town, nestled in picturesque mountain valleys, requires driving down winding mountain roads and along the flowing rapids of a river, creating a beautiful evening drive.

Nosegawa is about a 40 minute drive from Koyasan and after a half hour along these tiny mountain roads seemingly in the middle of nowhere, some guests wondered where on Earth we were headed.
The guests of Kokuu were the only foreigners at this small-town local festival, and everyone enjoyed the authentic Japanese experience, exploring food and drink stands, receiving Japanese fans, meeting Nosegawa mascots, and listening to live music from the stage.

Once the sky darkened enough, everyone settled onto the ground and gazed at over 3000 fireworks shot into the air above.
You are closer to the fireworks at Nosegawa than anywhere else in Japan, and being in the middle of a mountain valley accentuates the echoing boom of each firework, making for a unique and special fireworks experience that every Kokuu guest thoroughly enjoyed.
We hope more Kokuu guests can enjoy this experience with us next year!
