🚍 Shuttle Access & Lodging Info for Miuraguchi and Totsukawa
⚠️ Important Note for Autumn 2025 Hikers
If you’re planning to walk the Kohechi Trail this autumn (September–November 2025), please remember that accommodation in Miuraguchi is extremely limited. Only two small inns are currently operating: Minshuku Mandokoro and Minshuku Yamamoto, each with a capacity of only 6–7 guests.
Many hikers are unable to secure lodging and end up canceling their plans.
✅ Don’t give up — use the Kohechi Shuttle Bus!
Instead of staying in Miuraguchi, stay in nearby hot spring towns like Totsukawa Onsen or Tosenji Onsen, and take the shuttle bus to/from Miuraguchi Trailhead.

- Autumn: September 1 – November 30
Reservation required at least 3 days in advance.
Buses do not run without a reservation.

❗ Special Advice for Those Who Want to Walk from Miuraguchi to Totsukawa
If your goal is to walk the Miuraguchi → Totsukawa section on foot, you MUST reach Miuraguchi by 16:05 to catch the evening shuttle. This is not possible if you hike from Totsukawa in the morning.
Recommended strategy:
- Stay 2 nights in Totsukawa
- Take the 7:10 AM morning bus from Totsukawa Onsen
- Get off at Miuraguchi at 8:25
- Walk the trail from Miuraguchi back to Totsukawa
- Stay the second night at your inn
Enjoy the full trail, take your time, and relax in the hot springs at the end!
